We drove all the way from Houston to dine in for Easter Tea and were not disappointed. Yes, it’s pricey but worth it in my opinion. We hadn’t been to the French Room since they served a full dinner menu before the renovation. We enjoyed the new look and it was just as beautiful and elegant as we remembered. We plan to come back soon!

What a wonderful experience! My husband and I stayed at the Adolphus this weekend while celebrating our 1 year anniversary and had tea time at the French Room. The food was wonderful, especially the pork and sesame sandwich. They manage to impart so much flavor into just a few bites. I also loved their tea selection. The staff was very attentive and warm. And the room was absolutely stunning. So much detail. I loved my time here.

High tea at The French Room had been on my list for years, so my girlfriend and I decided to celebrate Lunar New Year there.

Parking is valet-only in the garage. It is $12 with no validation. Once inside, just take the escalator up and walk straight ahead.

We were seated right away, being the first table there. Our server was quick and attentive, bringing out bubbly, sandwiches, and hot tea as soon as we got settled. We also ordered the caviar flight and smoked salmon mini platter. After the savory bites, we were served sweet pastries.

The experience itself was fun, and our server was friendly and helpful. But the food and desserts? Underwhelming.

We wanted to love it, but for the price, it just didn’t live up to the hype.

The review is for the French Room Bar (open until midnight). We stayed at the Adolphus Hotel so we went to the bar for a nightcap.

Our bartender was amazing. The drinks were sophisticated and delicious. We very much enjoyed the drinks. The banana cake drink was served with a small slice of banana bread. We really loved the banana bread and asked if they sold it. The bartender told us they have a bakery downstairs that provides all the baked goods for the French Room and the cafe and gave us a complimentary slice.

Amazing vibes. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic. A 20% tip is included in the bill but I gave extra because the service and drink/food were all amazing. 100% recommend.

This was such a wonderful experience! From start to finish it exceeded my expectations. We booked afternoon tea here and arrived for our 10 am reservation. We were warmly greeted and seated at our table. The table was beautifully dressed. Our waitress explained our experience and discussed the additional offerings. I added the Caviar flight which was delicious! There were two offerings a savory and a sweet course. The savory course was my absolute favorite! Each bite was so flavorful and delicious! The sweet courses were good but for me a bit too sweet, but the scones!!! They were the show stoppers. Everything was beautifully presented. There were two teas a yellow tea and black tea. They were very well balanced and perfectly steeped. The service was spectacular! Our tea cups never ran dry and everyone was so pleasant. There was a harpist playing background music which really set the serene atmosphere. I really couldn’t ask for a better experience. This was such a fresh breath of air compared to a the poor dinner service we had last night at another restaurant. The service here was top notch!

There are moments in my life that I remember especially traveling the world as a Flight Attendant. So serving and service are what I always notice.
Today we had the pleasure of being served with the utmost care and class by a beautiful Woman; Connie ! This lovely sweet soul took care of us like we were in her own home! She shared the entire Service and all the wonderful details along with great suggestions! We loved everything! I actually had my very first expresso Martini and it was wonderful!
The sandwiches were amazing, scones were so delicious. The dessert pastries so delicate and tasty!
The ambience is incredible, with music from a harp , long with a decor that takes you back in time !
Decorated for the holidays it was exquisite!
We will return and we will be requesting Connie! I can see why she has stayed 39 years she loves her job and it shows!! The only thing we for got to do was get a photo with her! Next time for sure !

Had Afternoon Tea at The French Room in Dallas. Having lived in the UK for 20 years I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and authenticity of the experience. We began with a glass of sparkling juice but could have chosen sparkling wine. The tea sandwiches were of high quality and we each had 4 of different fillings including cucumber and cream cheese, roast beef, and a chicken salad that was my favorite. My husband’s favorite was the dill egg salad. We had scones both plain and with currants. Both were very well made and delicious Since authentic clotted cream is very hard to source in Texas they used whipped double cream along with jams. They finished with 4 delicious pastries. I must mention the tea. We had two types and both were delicious and mild but flavorful. It is not cheap but it is a wonderful experience for a special day out. They also have a special children’s tea. It is a wonderful way to expose them to new experiences
